Description of Research
I study firm boundary and scope decisions using the property rights models. I am currently working on my job market paper which examines the principal-agent relationship in between-firm transactions. The unique feature of this dataset is that it allows me to identify who is the principal within a buyer-seller relationship. Therefore, unlike traditional literature, I do not have to assume that the buyer is the relationship. Instead, I can not only test what are the relevant factors for being a principal, and identify how much bias do other papers make when they assume that the buyer is the principal.
